UniFAST Scholarship Application Program
In this article, we’ll dive into the two kinds of scholarships provided by the CHED UniFAST Scholarships program – the Tulong Dunong Program and the Tertiary Education Subsidy.
We’ll look closely at who can apply, how to apply, what you get, and what expenses are covered under both programs.
Tulong Dunong Program Overview:
The Tulong Dunong Program, under the CHED UniFAST Scholarships, provides financial assistance to students pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or a Technical-Vocational course at selected Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines. This program is specifically designed to support Filipino citizens who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in any of the participating HEIs.

Qualifications for Applicants:
- Must be a Filipino undergraduate student.
- The total gross income of the household (parent or guardian) should not exceed PHP 400,000 annually.
- Enrolled in a first undergraduate degree program in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), or Private Higher Education Institutions listed in the CHED Registry.
- Must not exceed the prescribed program duration.
- Not a recipient of Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), CHED Scholarship Programs (CSPs), or other national government-funded Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs).
Requirements for New Applicants:
- Tulong Dunong Program-Tertiary Education Subsidy Application Form
- Certified True Copy or Electronically Generated Certificate of Enrolment (COE) or Certificate of Registration (COR) showing the enrolled units.
- Certificate of Indigency as proof of income signed by the Barangay Captain where the applicant resides.
Requirements for Continuing Beneficiaries:
- Certified True Copy or Electronically Generated Certificate of Enrolment (COE) or Certificate of Registration (COR) showing the enrolled units.
- Certified True Copy of Leave of Absence (LOA) submitted to the HEI for students returning after not enrolling for one semester within an academic year (if applicable).
Tulong Dunong Program Benefits:
- Grantees receive Php 15,000 per academic year to support their tertiary education expenses, covering school fees and living expenses.
Tertiary Education Subsidy Overview:
The Tertiary Education Subsidy is a scholarship program designed to offer financial aid to students enrolled in CHED-recognized higher education institutions. Eligible students must come from households with a combined annual gross income not exceeding Php 300,000 and must be beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or a solo parent.
Qualifications for Applicants:
- Must be a Filipino citizen.
- Enrolled as an undergraduate student in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and Private Higher Education Institutions listed in the CHED registry.
- Must complete the program within the specified timeframe.
Requirements:
- Certificate of Registration (COR) or Certificate of Enrollment (COE).
- Photocopy of Person with Disability ID (if applicable).
Benefits for New Beneficiaries:
- Php 40,000 per academic year or Php 20,000 per semester for SUCs and LUCs students.
- Additional Php 10,000 per year or Php 5,000 per semester for persons with disabilities (PWD).
- One-time reimbursement of Php 8,000 for board/licensure examinations.
Benefits for Continuing Beneficiaries:
- Php 20,000 per academic year or Php 10,000 per semester for public and private higher education institutions.
- Php 60,000 per academic year or Php 30,000 per semester for students in private higher education institutions.
- Additional Php 10,000 per year or Php 5,000 per semester for persons with disabilities (PWD).
- One-time reimbursement of Php 8,000 for board/licensure examinations.
Application Process: UniFAST Scholarship Program
- Contact TES Focal Person:
- Upon enrollment for the first semester of the academic year, students must reach out to the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Focal Person at their Higher Education Institution (HEI).
- This step ensures that the student’s name and correct information are included in the list of applicants to be submitted to the TES Online Portal.
- Submission of Information:
- The TES Focal Person will then submit the applicants’ information to the TES Online Portal for the Nationwide Assessment.
