UNTOLD REASONS YOU COULD MISS THE JOB, CONTRACT OR OFFER.
I have had the privilege of being involved in the screening of applicants and selecting successful ones for job, contract or scholarship applications.
Some times, the selection criteria is often not made public and those who missed out are never told why they did. They are lots of common errors/mistakes people make which hinders their anticipated good news.
There are lots of common but costly errors applicants often make in terms of their: (a) CV, (b) Cover Letter, (c) Application Letter, and (d) when emailing the application. A lot of salient points needs to be known and taken heed for each of these four areas.
There are many common things people do without knowing that it puts them in a negative light before their selection personnel or prospective employer. You could soon realize the errors you have been making too. Carefully ensure you no longer commit any of these costly errors.
When it comes to emailing your applications, here are things you need to know and take heed:
1. Make sure your Email ID is your official name. If your Name is OBINNA AGWO. Your Email ID should not look like OBYGOD GENERAL, CUTE OBIBOBO, etc.

2. Your email address should be simple and decent. If possible, let it just contain your names in whichever order you prefer. Avoid slangs or numbers in your email address. Keep it matured and simple. Email addresses like 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟓@𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥.𝐜𝐨𝐦, 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐚𝟒𝐥𝐮𝐯@𝐲𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥.𝐜𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐲𝟒𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬@𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥.𝐜𝐨𝐦 etc. are a capital NO. Avoid that. Create a new email that doesn’t portray any form of childishness or unseriousness.
3. Make sure you save your documents (CV, Certificates etc) with YOUR NAME and a fast identification clue. E.g., Don’t save your documents with things like 𝐌𝐘 𝐂𝐕, 𝐌𝐘 𝐂𝐕 𝟐, 𝐌𝐘 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐂𝐕 etc. It looks odd. Something like 𝗢𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝗴𝘄𝗼, 𝗖𝗩; 𝗢𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝗴𝘄𝗼, 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁; 𝗢𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝗴𝘄𝗼, 𝗡𝗬𝗦𝗖 are matured examples of appropriate file names.
4. Don’t send any email without an appropriate caption and well written email body. You stand a chance of increasing your prospects when you present a befitting caption and captivating email body.
5. As a follow up to 4 above, never FORWARD your CV or Documents to different persons. Upload them afresh each time you want to send it to another email address. Don’t be lazy and don’t be in a hurry. Those receiving your application can tell so much about your person and personality based on what they receive from you.
6. Make you to attach are the necessary/recommended documents under the same email before sending the mail.
This is certainly not an exhaustive explanation.
I hope you find this post useful. Did this make any sense to you? I will like to know. Any questions to ask? Feel free to ask.
To your success.
