As 29th May, 2023 approaches, Iyierioba.com has been able to find through grapevine names of persons the incoming government in Ebonyi State will announce for appointments on the 29th May for the takeoff of the Francis Nwifuru Government.
1. Chief Press Secretary to the Governor: We have got from grapevine that the APC’s new governor shall be appointing Ekene Oketa, the spokesman of the incoming Governor will be appointing him his Chief Press Secretary. Mr Oketa in his early 30s is a journalist whose late father was the chairman of Abakaliki LGA of Ebonyi State and Special Assistant to Gov. David Umahi of the state.
2. Chief of Staff, Government House: This is one of the first offices that’ll be given to persons immediately after the inauguration of the incoming Governor. We have gathered that the office will be given to the immediate past Chairman of Izzi LGA, Mr Paul Nwogha who has been political godson of the Governor elect and who also knows most of his schedules even before now.
3. Principal Private Secretary to the Governor: This office is reserved for the serving Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Ebonyi State chapter, Tony Nwizi. Mr Nwizi was the spokesman of the incoming Governor during his time as Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly. He’s a very close confidant of the Governor elect who also hails from Izzi as Mr Nwifuru.
4. Director of Protocols, Government House: This office is reserved for the current Director of Protocols to the Governor elect who’s simply identified as Nwamini from Izzi.
5. Secretary to State Government: The outgoing Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi has nominated one of his boys for the office of SSG, Chief Enekwachi Akpa from Ohaozara LGA of the state. He’s currently a Commissioner.
