Anambra State University has promoted some of its lecturers to Professorship and Associate Professorship ranks recently. The University renamed to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) in Anambra state promoted 18 senior lecturers to professorship rank at its 73rd meeting. The decision was witnessed by the state’s Commissioner for Education and the Vice Chancellor in also in attendance. Seven other members of the academic staff were also promoted. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University’s spokesman, Harrison Madubueze, disclosed this in a statement released to the press. The event was graced by the Anambra state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Greg Nwakoby, the Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Prof. M.O Ananti and Prof. Osita Chiaghanam, the Registrar, Sir. Chris Obi, the Ag Bursar; Mr Nath Udezo, the Ag Librarian; Dr Uche Enweani, as well as the university’s internal council members, deans of faculties, and directors of units. Those promoted, according to the university’s spokesman, include: Chinedu Igboeli (Department of Mass Communication) Kelechi Ezeji (Department of Architecture) Jessie Chukwunulu (Department of Banking and Finance) EthelMary Dim (Department of Business Administration) Akinpelu Babayemi (Department of Chemical Engineering) Cyril Obi (Department of Economics) Ngozi Madu (Department of English) Ifeoma Udoye (Department of English) Ugochukwu Orajaka (Department of Entrepreneurship) Innocent Okoye (Department of Internal Medicine) Enright Okorie (Department of Law) Norbert Agbanu (Department of Library and Info Science) Chinedu Igboeli (Department of Mass Communication) Cyril Ezeanyeaku (Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology) Rose Onyekwelu (Department of Public Administration) Anselem Nweke (Department of Public Administration) Stella Obasi (Department of Science Education) Chijioke Agbasiere (Department of Theatre Arts) Anthonia Umezulike (Department of Vocational Education) Joy Okeke Ezeanyanwu (Department of Vocational Education).
