Quality leadership according to a famous school of thought is a precondition for implementing quality vision, management and policies aimed at unlocking peoples potentials to become better. The above submission in a nutshell states what Distinguished Senator Engr. Ken Eze portrays as a dynamic leader and Senator Representing the good people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial District.
Undoubtedly, Dist. Senator Engr. Ken Eze is indeed a political rare gem and Ebonyi Central Senatorial District is really lucky to have him at a time like this as their representative at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly where he is systematically changing the old narratives and impacting positively on the society thus actively improving the lots of the people for better living conditions.
Dist. Senator Engr. Ken Eze in all leadership positions held has always matched actions with great vision that evolves a comprehensive framework of positive transformations in the society and on the lives of the people. Testimonies abound of his records of monumental achievements especially in the areas of peace advocacy, security, unity, human capacity building, youth empowerment and basic infrastructural needs of the people.
Senator Ken Eze’s performance and achievements in every given position of trust have always been awesome and beyond expectations, right from his days in the private sector, his tenure as a Development Center Coordinator, as a Local Government Executive Chairman, and more so at the moment as a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Indeed, Senator Engr. Ken Eze, the Agu-n’eche-Mba 1 of Mgberemeze Ancient Kingdom has really over the short periods in office as a Senator, completely proven to the public that he is indeed an indefatigable leader, a trailblazer, a goal-getter and a great achiever, thus, justifying the popular maxim that when the righteous is on the throne; the people rejoice.
As a proactive leader, Senator Ken Eze immediately after his inauguration as member of 10th Senate, quickly hit the ground rolling towards offering his people quality and effective representation. He successfully projected himself among the major functionaries and big wings of the Senate and consequently got appointed respectively as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Member of several sensitive Senate Committees, even as a first timer in the National Assembly. For instance, Senator Ken Eze is the Chairman Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation and the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Water Resources. He is also a member of the following Senate Committees; Works, Appropriation, Finance, National Planning, Downstream Petroleum Sector, Housing, Public Account, Sustainable Development Goals and Foreign Affairs.
Senator Ken Eze is more so a member Senate Committee on Marine Transport, Local Content, Youth & Sports, Agriculture Colleges,
Science & Technology, and Senate Special Committee on Internal Security, among others.
Senator Engr. Ken Eze was also unanimously endorsed and made the National Treasurer of Southern Nigeria Senators Forum, by his colleagues, sequel to his outstanding ingenuity, integrity, capacity and noble carriage.
He has at different occasions got nominated by Nigerian government to led powerful Nigeria delegations to Overseas for serious official engagements. For instance, he led Nigerian delegation to the United Kingdom to understudy world leading broadcasting industries, towards finalizing and implementing full digitalization of Nigeria Broadcasting Industry. He also led a delegation of African Legislators to a parliamentary meeting of 10th World Water Forum held last year in Bali, Indonesia. He was also part of Nigeria delegation to Rwanda for a global summit and retreat on maximizing the potential of Nigeria’s oil sector.
And on the floor of the 10th Senate, Distinguished Sen. Engr. Ken Eze is also a giant and indeed ranks high among the strong voices of the Red Chambers, as he has moved many notable motions and sponsored several sensitive bills, which include the famous Bill for an Act to establish Federal Polytechnic Onueke in Ezza South LGA of Ebonyi State; which was resently presented for public hearing. Bill for an Act to repeal and re-enact NBC Act 2024. Bill for an Act to repeal and re-enact Nigerian Press Council Act 2024. Bill for Price Control Amendment Act to suit the present Day Economy. Bill for an act to establish National Internship and Unemployment Benefits Scheme 2024. He moved a motion to investigate the Activities of Electricity Distribution Companies across the Country. Senator Ken Eze also moved and supported many other motions including a motion on the urgent need to investigate alleged incidences of corruption and inefficiency at the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited and National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO), located in Kogi State.
Distinguished Senator Ken Eze has also in his effort to reduce the high level of unemployment among teeming graduates and youths, within one year in office, secured jobs in different Federal establishments to over 50 young graduates across Ebonyi Central Senatorial District. He also appointment and handsomely pays over 50 Legislative Aides in addition to the statutory 5 Legislative Aides officially approved for his office by the National Assembly Service Commission.
He graciously made Payment of 2024 WAEC registration fees for over 300 indigent students of Ebonyi Central Senatorial origin who were unable to register for the said WAEC Exam due to lack of money, and were at the verge of dropping out of school. Senator Ken Eze also pays school fees regularly for over 200 undergraduates under his free Education programme, that has being on course even before he became a Senator. The People’s Senator also embarks on routine hospital visitation cum payment of hospital bills for the under privilege persons especially the widows, physically challenged and the orphans. Also, Senator Ken Eze has financially empowered over 1000 youths, market women and small scale business men across Ebonyi Central Senatorial District. The Senator embarked on rural electrification in some Communities of Ebonyi Central Zone which include the Azuzuru / Azuogbagu Community in Nkalagu, Ishielu LGA.
The People’s Senator also installed Solar Street light in many Communities of Ebonyi Central Zone, which include; Echara Community in Ezza South LGA, Enyibichiri Community in Ikwo,
Amegu/Nsokara, Agba, Okpoto, Umuhuali, Eziulo, Igbudu ward 1, Ekawoke, Ekpelu, Ekpomaka, Echara Ikwo, Ndieguechara, Ameka Ikwo, and Amaezekwe Ezza South.
The Senator also installed Solar street light at FETHA 1 Abakaliki and as well attracted Installation of Solar Mini Grid Power Source at Unity FM, Abakaliki. He as well drilled over 56 borehole for his people in different Communities in the Senatorial Zone. Senator Engr. Ken Eze also offers periodical financial assistance and cash grants to elderly men, youths and market women especially small scale business owners across Ebonyi Central Senatorial District.
He has in all distributed over 5000 bags of Fertilizer to farmers across Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone. He
distributed over 500M worth of Science apparatus, Exercise Books and Mathematical learning equipments to public Secondary Schools across Ebonyi Central Senatorial District. He organized an all-encompassing Free Medical Outreach for the overall health benefits of the good people of Ebonyi Central District, to tackle different ailments, including Cancer screening for prostate and cervical cancers, Screening for viral Hepatitis, Blood Pressure and Diabetes checks and treatment, Hernia & Hydrocele Surgery, Eye check up and provision of glasses to patients, Diagnosis and treatment of Peptic Ulcer, malaria and typhoid fever, General medical check, Nutritional advice, Provision of mobility aids and Dispensing of drugs, among other medical conditions and treatments.
Distinguished Senator Ken Eze also awarded the construction of 5 Class Room block each at some public Secondary Schools across Ebonyi Central Senatorial District, some of which are Ndiagu Amagu Ikwo Primary School, Nwachi Amagu Primary School, and Community Primary School Umunwagu Idembia.
He awarded the construction of Amagu-Achiukoro-Nsokkara Feeder Road of Ezza South LGA, Umuome Oriuzor feeder road in Ezza North LGA and as well attracted the construction of Isu-Ezzaegu / Amagu-Nze Inter-State road in Ishielu LGA, as the road has been captured in the 2025 budget of the National Assembly. Senator Ken Eze organized the training of over 5000 women from Ebonyi Central on series of Skill Acquisition and Empowerment Programmes, and opened One Million Naira Trust Fund and award of Scholarships up to University levels to the children of each of the 2 APC slain supporters during the campaign of 2023 general elections, and these are the children of Mr. Emeta Christian Uzim and Prince Emeka Enyiukpo, respectively of Ikwo and Ishielu LGAs.
Nevertheless, the Senator in his usual generosity distributed over 100 Cows, 20,000 bags of rice and assorted household items including cash worth millions of naira to the good people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone, during last Christmas celebration, and has
consistently sponsored peace and unity advocacy among the people of Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone and beyond.
To this end, Distinguished Senator Engr. Ken Eze is by every indication a quintessential leader who is fully loaded and well prepared for the enormous demands and responsibilities of his office as a Senator. Yes, he is indeed representing the people effectively and strongly determine to rewrite the old narratives and accordingly deliver the long desired democracy dividends, beyond public expectations.
However, this Colossus and pragmatic leader not tired of his numerous achievements so far recorded in just One Year and Six months in office, also decided to massively roll out the drums on 4th January 2025 at his Ohigbo Amagu Country-Home of Ezza South LGA, during a Special Thanksgiving Service and Empowerment Programme which he organized for his Constituents, wherein he distributed a very large quality of empowerment materials which include Mini Buses, Toyota Sienna Cars, Toyota Corolla Cars, Motorcycles, Tricycles, Grinding Machines, Sewing Machines, Spraying Machines, Deep Freezers, Laptops, Award of Scholarships, Cash Grants and distribution of over 20,000 bags of Rice, bags of Fertilizer and cartons of liquid fertilizer to the people all to the admiration and acclaim of thousands of guests, dignitaries and special guests of honour that graced the occasion, including
the Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Nworie Chukwu and the Governor of Ebonyi State His Excellency Rt. Hon. Buldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, who extolled Distinguished Senator Engr. Ken Eze so highly and described the Empowerment Programme as mega and first of it’s kind in the history of Ebonyi Central Senatorial District.
