WAEC May/June Mathematics Questions and Answers 2025/2026 EXPO: WAEC has released materials to help you get ready for the Mathematics exam on May 30, 2025 The WAEC Maths OBJ and ESSAY Questions and Answers will be on Thursday, May 30, 2025. The exam will be from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon (2 hours and 30 minutes) and from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm (1 hour and 30 minutes).
This is for the General Mathematics exam, which includes Mathematics (Core) 1 (Objective) and Mathematics (Core) 2 (Essay). These materials will help you know what to expect and how to do your best in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

GENERAL 2025/2026 MATHEMATICS/MATHEMATICS (CORE) SYLLABUS

AIMS OF THE SYLLABUS
- Mathematical Competency: Demonstrate mathematical skills and computational proficiency.
- Conceptual Understanding: Apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems and entrepreneurial skills.
- Problem-Solving: Translate problems into mathematical language and solve them using appropriate methods.
- Accuracy: Achieve accuracy relevant to the problem at hand.
- Critical Thinking: Think logically, abstractly, and precisely.
- 50 multiple-choice objective questions
- 1½ hours duration
- 50 marks
- 13 essay questions in two sections (A and B)
- 2½ hours duration
- 100 marks
- 5 compulsory questions, elementary in nature
- 40 marks
- 8 questions of greater length and difficulty
- 2 questions may be from unfamiliar topics
- Candidates must answer 5 questions
- 60 marks
