It was in 1976 that it was made compulsory that each community in Nigeria must have a traditional ruler.

Going by the ranking of traditional rulers in Nigeria, Igbo doesn’t parade any as Obi of Onitsha and Onitsha people by extension have always said that they are from Benin. It, therefore, means that every Igbo male child is a king. Isn’t it?

Next time you are adding kingdom to your community as a South East person, know it that there’s no kingdom in Igboland! Not one!
