When we talk about educational disadvantages in Ebonyi State, Ikwo LGA of the state should be exempted from it. Ikwo is a local government and has the highest number of Ph.D. holders in Ebonyi State. Afikpo immediately follows.
Below are Ph.D. holders in Ikwo known to me. The majority of these people teach in the UK, USA, and elsewhere. Dead Ph.D. holders didn’t make it to this list. All the people here are alive and working. Only 10 – 15 of the Ph.D. holders here aren’t yet Associate Professors. About 50 are on the verge of defending their Ph. Ds but weren’t captured here. There are more Ph.D. holders in Ikwo but these are the ones I know for now.
