Nwoba Chika Nwoba, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, has reported challenges in delivering a polling booth to a PDP official in the state. The challenges may have arisen from logistical issues or political interference, but further details were not provided in the brief statement.
This post is a response from Nwoba Chika Nwoba, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ebonyi State, to accusations that he did not deliver his polling booth to the PDP in the governorship poll. Nwoba explains that he faced security threats ahead of the election and had to be guarded by armed security agents throughout the night and day of the poll. There was also a stern order from higher authorities that he should not be allowed close to the polling booth that day.
Additionally, Nwoba explains that he had no cash to share with voters like the APC agents who allegedly shared N1000 cash to each voter. He had money in his bank account but was not able to withdraw it, and the PDP agents had no money to share. Despite this, Nwoba claims that the PDP still managed to win a significant number of votes from organic voters who surprised them by voting massively for the PDP. In the end, the PDP scored 148 votes, while the APC scored 182 votes.
Nwoba argues that given the harsh polling reality and the fact that even highly placed politicians lost their polling booths to the opposition, he should not be crucified for not delivering his polling booth to the PDP.
Overall, this post is a response to criticism directed at Nwoba for allegedly failing to deliver his polling booth to the PDP in the governorship poll. Nwoba explains the challenges he faced and the efforts he made despite those challenges, and argues that he should not be criticized unfairly.

He Wrote;
My name is Nwoba Chika Nwoba. I am the Publicity Secretary of PDP in Ebonyi State. I have been inundated with the derisive question of why I didn’t deliver my polling booth to the PDP at the governorship poll. I cast vote at the Agunkwo Amangwuru village hall polling booth of Ekpelu community, Ikwo LGA of Ebonyi State.
The truth is that it was hard for me to deliver the polling booth owing to the fact that I had security threat ahead of the day such that I had to go home with armed security agents who guarded me all through the night at home and day of the poll. There was a stern order from the powers that be that I should not be allowed close to the polling booth that day. On returning to village from Abakaliki on Friday, some APC elements halted my vehicle, posed menacingly against my passage, but took to their heels when they saw that I had armed security men in the vehicle. Imagine what it would have been if I didn’t return prepared.
Secondly, I had no cash to share like the APC agents who shared N1000 cash to each voter. I had money in my bank account, but wasn’t able to withdraw it. Our PDP agents had no money, so, we harvested only organic voters who even surprised us by voting massively for PDP. When the result was called, PDP scored 148 votes, while APC scored 182 votes. Didn’t we try? If governors and other highly placed politicians could lose their polling booths to the opposition, who am I to be crucified for not delivering mine even in the face of a glaring harsh polling reality? The same people traducing me have craftily refused to praise me for delivering in the first election. What kind of criticism should this be called?

So you would have indulged in vote buying if you had cash with you, which means you are not different from the people you criticize
