What It Took Me To Bag Ph.D says Ezediuto

A Technical Assistant to the Governor of Enugu State and Chief Security Officer of Awgu LGA of the state, Stanley Ezediuto has just bagged a Ph.D from the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Portharcourt. He studied Human Resource Management in his PhD class.

In an interview after the convocation party of the university on the 22nd of April, 2023 with the press, Dr Ezediuto stated what his experience had been like while pursuing the coveted academic feat.  Below was extracted from his acknowledgement comment:

“I’m happy to have joined the league of PhD holders in the world today by dint of academic commitment. I acquired a PhD in Human Resource Management. When I was younger, it had always been my earnest desire to pursue education till the point it could be said that I would not be in classroom any longer for learning apart from teaching engagement which is volitional.
Today, the 22nd of April, 2023, that childhood dream has come to a full actualisation, and it’s only God who could have made it possible for me to be alive to behold a day like this.

It hasn’t been an easy process. At some points I thought about dropping and continuing later, but I always looked back to the zeal that propelled the journey, so, I moved on. I’m happy for it today, and I know my family and friends are also happy that I surmounted the hurdles and finally lifted the trophy.

I didn’t achieve this academic height without the earnest contributions of many individuals. First and foremost, I’m indebted to my wife, children and mother including my other siblings who endured deprivation of comfort, attention and company all through the years this journey lasted. They stood by me and kept patience and condonation of the domestic lacuna the pursuit of this academic garland created. May God bless them. I thank the outgoing Governor of my state and Chairman of my LGA – Awgu, Enugu State for finding me worthy of trust with some political recognitions dividends therefrom which accelerated this success. May God bless them. To all my political, media and business allies both at home and in the diaspora, I give you all thanks for your respective contributions in kind and otherwise. My friends, academic advisers, lecturers and course mates as well as sources of the materials that aided my thesis writing and defence, may God bless you all.

Let me use this opportunity and swiftly reiterate this: Education is very significant in everything that we do in life. I urge everyone to pursue it till any level their strength can take them as no knowledge, formal and informal is a waste. It’s not a rocket science. If I could do it, everyone else can. Education is a basic necessity everyone should acquire to get self equipped in a competitive society like ours. It’s though true that our governments don’t place high premium on academic excellence, but then, it’s a feather that all birds should struggle to wear for many reasons depending on the prism anyone sees it from. At this juncture, I’m urging the government at all levels to as a matter of priority, place high values on education and employment so that citizens are enlivened to pursue education so that the spate of crime reduces in our society. Only education can redirect a misguided mind. Our educational institutions are in a sorry state, with their human and material drivers left in a decrepit condition. A whole lot is expected from government at all levels in ensuring that we have a learning environment from where egalitarian society and passionate humanity can be achieved.

May everyone embrace education and not despise it. I join the host of my friends and lovers in wishing myself congratulations for being among the PhD graduands participating in the 2023 convocation for PhD graduates in the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Portharcourt, Rivers State of Nigeria, today 22nd April, 2023. To God be the glory!”, Ezediuto stated.
