According to Nwoba Chika Nwoba, He Wrote:
I want my teeming audience and supporters to do me a favour. A little effort in cushioning the scribal hostility that is experienced on Facebook. That favour is that they should always read a post very well before reacting to it. If the post is lengthy, then read the first paragraph, the middle paragraph and the last one. For some of us skilled writers, the central message of an update can be wrapped in a compound-complex sentence or in a line somewhere in the body of the article or update. Other expressions are just compliments.
I am always heartbroken reading comments that are in complete contrast to what the posts talk about. It makes me summarize such commenters as immaterial beings junketing the social media. Many people read what you comment. You can gain favour from your comments. You can build your own profile account through the comments you make on the posts of others. I read the comments and likes that are made under my posts. I want to learn from them either to improve on my scribal skill or get some ideas germane to knowledge.
For instance, I didn’t say that the Ebonyi Airport project was shabbily built. I didn’t say that it isn’t beautiful. What I said was that the colour rioting is not good for an airport said to be of international interest. Even if you disagree with my observation which is your right, you shouldn’t involve my late mother in it. What’s her business with the update? Why call me names over a fair observation I am entitled to? When outsiders were undervaluing the airport project years back, I defended the project three times with heavy wordings and circulation. A few days back, I captured a video of the airport’s overhead bridge and posted on my commercial TV Network, EbonyiTvonline which has so far generated 116k views and hundreds of shares, comments and likes. No government’s social media person has given such massive publicity to any project of the government. Imagine people accusing me of being anti progress, NCN who celebrates people’s achievements so loudly. Who defends Ebonyi and her citizens more than myself? I stake my security, image and popularity in defending our state and people. Is that the person they say hates Ebonyi’s progress? Wonders will never cease..!
I made a post in badinage about picking a second wife just to entertain my audience, many instead of reading it jumped into commenting, calling me names when the last paragraph clearly spelt out the intention of the post. If you don’t like me as a person or what I post, just block me and move on. Don’t stay put in a house you aren’t protected. You can’t be throwing stones while inside. I am not contesting election. That’s when such is expected most due to interest. It’s up to you to reason good or continue… I have said it repeatedly that I am not looking for audience by any means. My works will always stand out and reach large audience. I have no business with clout chasing. I don’t even know how to do so.
Overall, the post is a call for civility and careful reading on social media, and a defense of the Nwoba Chika Nwoba, intentions and values.
