The immediate past General Manager of the Anambra State Broadcasting Service in Awka, Dr Uche Nworah has spoken in the trending saga between Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and an Anambra girl, Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma whom the exam body has accused of hacking into its website and altered scores in the portal to make herself the overall best candidate for the year 2023. Nworah in a statement on his Facebook handle stated:
“We Can Not Judge Mmesoma’s JAMB Result Using Her Brilliant School Results
I have seen several people parading Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma’s brilliant school results to suggest that she is capable of achieving the controversial JAMB scores she is claiming.
Honestly, we can not judge the present matter with her past brilliant performances. It is not in doubt that she is brilliant because even if we were to go with the score (249) that JAMB says is her real score, that’s also not a small feat. We all went to school and know that on exam day, a lot of things can go wrong. We call such wahala ‘exam fever’ where one suffers temporary memory loss, or gets nervous in the examination hall, and is no longer able to remember all one has studied. The final result is usually disappointing and may not be consistent with the person’s past mock results.
I watched the JAMB PRO on Channels TV this morning and he sounded convincing with evidence to suggest that the result Mmesoma is parading is fake and was manipulated.
My view is that perhaps she may have fallen victim to some people who manipulated her result hoping to use same and herself to ‘obtain’ monetary benefits”.
Uche Nworah.
