The post is a formal victory and acceptance speech delivered by Dr. Nkemkanma Kama, the Honourable Member-Elect for the Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo (Ohanivo) Federal Constituency in Nigeria. Dr. Kama pledges to work towards a better Ohanivo, where the needs of the people are met, and a new dawn is ushered in. She emphasizes the need for unity and cooperation among all stakeholders in Ohanivo, regardless of their political affiliations, to achieve the desired development.
Dr. Kama also appreciates the support of the Labour Party Presidential candidate, His Excellency Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, and the leader of Ebonyi South and Ohanivo, Rt. Honourable Linus Abaa Okorie, as well as many other party supporters and stakeholders in Ebonyi State.

In conclusion, Dr. Kama urges the people of Ohanivo to join her in making a difference, shun violence and divisive tendencies, and work together to build a new and better Ohanivo.

My Dear Good and Great People of OHANIVO and soon to be Constituents!
You made a rare history on Saturday, the 25th of February, 2023 when you trooped out in your numbers and overwhelmingly elected me as your choice candidate to represent you in Nigeria’s Green Chambers, the House of Representatives. I do not take this for granted. I waited this long to make this address. I wanted the elections to be completed.
No doubt, the outing was historic for many reasons. We did not just win. We overcame inherent challenges. We proved the Nay Sayers wrong. In their estimation, our Party, the Labour Party was new and unknown. It had no structures, they mocked us. But you stood tall, firm and strong. And you delivered victory. Our sweet victory was only made possible by our Living God. May Praise and Honour be unto Him.
I wish to thank very immensely the ordinary men and women, youths and the aged who, in spite of obvious intimidation and harassment came out to cast their votes. I am indebted to the various party agents, volunteers, poll unit observers and all of you who showed uncommon courage to defend our votes. Till I was declared the winner, you stood the harrowing pains of the night; famished, tired but yet resolute. I am proud of you. I celebrate you.
Such uncommon willpower demonstrated not only your personal love for me but also reflected the innermost desires of Ohanivo Constituents to witness a breath of fresh air which I have come to represent.
Your efforts shall never be in vain. You have made a great choice in me. We will be in this together. I know your pains. I know our needs. It is out of my sincere personal conviction that I offered myself to contest the election. Our Constituency yearns for a change. I am happy you realised this and have helped to create a new dawn. By God’s Grace, I will not disappoint you. I will give you quality and fair representation.
This is our victory. While we relish in it, we must not lose sight of the journey ahead. It does not promise to be easy. But I am certain it is surmountable. Umunnem, I invite you to join me to Look Upon Zion, the city of Our appointed feasts; Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful abode, a tent which will not be taken down; not one of its stakes will ever pulled up, nor any of its ropes be severed (Isaiah 33:20). Forward Ever. Backward Never! We are so determined. The victory you freely and willingly offered me has energized me to pledge a purposeful and fruitful representation. I pledge to make a difference having been offered this opportunity.
Therefore, I wish to call on everyone to be part of this effort. The elections have come and gone. It is not longer time to bicker. Bitterness should give way to sweetness and joy. Acrimony should belong to the past. To my fellow contestants, I offer you a hand of friendship. We are first united by common origin, cultural affiliation and brotherhood before we became politicians. I am open to reconciliation and I will pursue this.
For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a typical politician. I am a reformer and a change agent who has come with the fear of God to make the desired impact. I call on you to join me to actualize a better Constituency for our people. To achieve an OHANIVO that can stand tall and be counted is now my concern. Join me put Ohanivo on the world map. Let us build a Constituency our children and those yet unborn shall be proud of. According to Howard Schultz, success is best when it is shared. We will share this.
May I at this juncture thank the leader of the Obidient Movement (World-wide), His Excellency, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, the Labour Party Presidential candidate for providing us the Massive and People-centred Obidient Platform. Thank you for the immense support, counsel and goodwill. Also, I wish to sincerely appreciate our leader in Ebonyi South and OHANIVO, Rt. Honourable Linus Abaa Okorie for his indefatigability, sincerity of purpose and Team spirit. To many party supporters and stakeholders in Ebonyi State in general and beyond, I sincerely commend you. Thank you for the wonderful support. You defiled political stereotyping to support and vote for me and many others. We will make the difference. To our teeming youths, in OHANIVO, the future belongs to us. There are many things we can accomplish. We are better together. Let no one break our resolve to bring the change we need. We should prove pessimists wrong. We must shun violence and all divisive tendencies irrespective of where they are coming from. My election heralds a New Dawn. I will champion your cause. I will attract roads, basic infrastructure and modern facilities for our people. I will walk and work with everyone – young, old, male, female, boy, girl, man and woman to build a new OHANIVO. I see only possibilities. If God is for us, who can be against us? God is with us!
I believe that in our collective mission to Nigeria’s hallowed Green Chambers, my dream, our dream for greatness has finally found a fertile ground. The Time is Now. Let us join hands to accomplish this. Ndi Ohanivo! Chineke Gozie Anyi!
