This is to inform the general public that the Lagos State University (LASU) is now accepting applications for the 2024/2025 Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme. This one-year programme helps students with O’Level deficiencies prepare for exams and the UTME to gain admission into LASU.
The programme runs from October 2024 to September 2025 at the Epe Campus. Applicants need at least three credits in relevant subjects. Successful candidates can transition to 100 Level in various faculties. To apply, pay ₦15,000 and register on the LASU PDS portal.

Programme Details
Duration and Purpose The Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme at Lagos State University will run for one academic session, from October 2024 to September 2025. This intensive programme aims to assist candidates with deficiencies in their O’Level results. It prepares them to re-sit for the examination and get ready for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to gain admission into 100-level degree programmes at LASU.
Location The programme will take place at the Lagos State University, Epe Campus.

Admission Requirements
Criteria:
- Candidates must have credits in at least three subjects from the following: Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies (CRS), Islamic Religious Studies (IRS), and Accounting.
- These credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, GCE, or NECO.
- Candidates meeting these requirements will be invited for a written qualifying examination.

Transition to 100 Level:
To transition to 100 Level, candidates must:
- Sit for the UTME and obtain the minimum JAMB cut-off mark for university admission.
- Comply with the university screening test requirements.
- Register for and pass WAEC and/or NECO exams to address any deficiencies in O’Level results.
Successful candidates will be eligible for allocation to 100 Level courses in related faculties such as Engineering, Science, Management Sciences, Education, Social Sciences, Law, Agriculture, Transport, Mass Communication, Nursing, Dentistry, and the College of Medicine.
Programme Success:
Despite the overall low-performance rate in the 2024 UTME, the PDS programme recorded significant success. Exposure to rigorous teaching and CBT practice contributed to 79.7% of Pre-Degree candidates scoring 200 and above.

Online Payment:
- Go to the LASU websiteand click on “MAKE PAYMENT” to pay the ₦15,000 fee for the 2024/2025 Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) programme.
- After payment, register online through the LASU PDS Application Portal.
Closing Date:
- The application closing date is ten weeks from today.
Qualifying Examination and Interview:
- The date for the Qualifying Examination and Interview will be announced later.
Important Information:
- The programme is residential. Admitted candidates will stay at the Epe Campus of Lagos State University.
