The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the official registration fees for the 2025/2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE).
JAMB Registration Fee Breakdown
As part of the registration process, candidates are required to pay the following fees:
- JAMB Form Fee: ₦3,500
- Registration Charges: ₦700
- Examination Fee: ₦1,500
- Optional Mock-UTME Fee: ₦1,500 (for private CBT centres only)
Understanding the Difference Between JAMB Direct Entry and JAMB UTME
JAMB Direct Entry (DE)
- Designed for candidates with higher qualifications like National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).
- Enables candidates to apply for direct admission into the second or third year of a university programme, depending on the course and institution policies.
- Examination not required: DE candidates only complete the registration process without participating in the UTME.
JAMB UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination)
- Intended for candidates with O’Level qualifications (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB).
- Serves as the standard entry examination for admission into the first year (100 level) of a university programme.
- Candidates must meet the minimum JAMB score set by their chosen institution to qualify for admission.
Additional Information for JAMB 2025/2026 Candidates
- Choice of Institutions:
- You can select up to three institutions during registration.
- One university must be your first choice, while the others can be your second and third choices.
- Awaiting Results:
- Candidates can register with “awaiting results.” However, you must upload your results later to be eligible for admission.
- Mock-UTME Participation:
- The Mock-UTME is optional and requires an additional ₦1,500 fee for candidates who wish to participate at privately-owned centres.
