- The National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of ñthe former Senate President, Barr Anyim Pius Anyim over anti party activities in Ebonyi State ahead of the concluded governorship election in the state.
Conveying the news of the suspension to the public, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Hon. Debo Ologunagba stated that the NWC of the party suspended Anyim and others over anti party activities in Ebonyi State. He furthered by saying that the suspension started by today, Thursday, March 23rd, 2023 till further notice. The statement also announced same measure on the Governor of Benue State, Dr Samuel Ortom whom he said the party had referred to a disciplinary committee to look into his activities before the elections which saw him declaring open support for the Labour Party.
Sen. Anyim a few days to the governorship election in Ebonyi State announced and directed his teeming supporters to vote for the APC’s candidate, Francis Nwifuru against the PDP’s candidate, Chief Ifeanyi Odii.
